Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Aggregates Management Trainee to join our team in Honeoye Falls, NY.

What You'll Get To Do:

  • Complete a defined training program tailored to prepare the successful candidate for future roles in management in the aggregates business. In addition to operations, the program will expose the candidate to a broad range of functions within the business including sales and numerous other support departments. Some of the things the successful candidate will focus on in the program are as follows:

  • All aspects of the operational side of the business including mining, processing, maintenance, quality control and shipping.

  • Safety and environmental regulations associated with the aggregates business.

  • An understanding of the sales side of the business including the sales processes, orders, logistics, billing, etc.

  • A solid understanding of the support departments including the functions that they perform and how they support the business. These include safety, environmental, CCM, HR, finance, legal and purchasing.

  • Complete various projects as assigned during the training program. Projects may be operational, engineering or business development related. These projects are a great way for the successful candidate to really add value to the organization and increase their own skills while completing the training program.

  • At various times, assume some management responsibilities over small groups of personnel while working under the direction of an experienced supervisor.

  • Participate in continuous improvement exercises, including work that is heavily analytical, to seek new and changing ways to improve the profitability of the business.

  • Drive and promote a culture of safety and promote a safe work environment

This position will be based out of Honeoye Falls , NY.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering

  • Knowledge of mine design preferred

  • Knowledge of geology and chemistry

  • Ability to think analytically and solid math skills to perform the analysis

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD a plus

  • Able to perform Cost Benefit Analysis – NPV, EVA, etc.

  • Solid computer skills including MS Office products

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • This job requires individual to walk distances, walking on rough surfaces, sitting and standing on a regular basis
