The Role of the Company

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Weighmaster for our Newport, NY aggregate plant.

What you’ll get to do

Do you consider yourself organized and detail oriented? Heidelberg Materials is seeking a candidate who can multi-task and be an integral part of the Newport team.

  • Operates the truck scale

  • Verifiess job assignments previously scheduled by the dispatcher

  • Assist with Dispatch to include taking orders and coordinating deliveries.

  • Notifies drivers of the product to be loaded

  • Weighs loaded trucks and prints the customers ticket for signature

  • Maintains radio communication with loader operators and drivers

  • Relays information between the drivers, dispatchers and loader operators

  • Acts as customer service, offers product information and pricing to drop-in customers

  • Handle customer billing, including compiling, preparing, and reconciling invoices and tickets

  • Collects and records CODs from drivers

  • Reconcile sales data at the end of the day

  • Perform other administrative duties and assignments as required

  • Fill in at other area plants as needed

What we are looking for

  • HS diploma or equivalent

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing/office environment desired

  • Experience heavy manufacturing Industry preferred

  • Proficient administrative skills; previous experience in the scaling function preferred

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Attention to detail

  • Strong organization and communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent organization and communication skills

  • Valid NJ driver’s license
