What You'll Get To Do
Repair & maintenance of heavy highway construction and OTR trucking equipment to include pavers, rollers, skidsteers, pickups & service trucks, DOT regulated tractors, trailers and triaxles.
Maintenance and repair of diesel and gas engines.
Maintenance and repair of small engines (i.e. air compressors, Leaf blowers, demo saws, tampers, etc.).
Troubleshoot and perform system or specialized component repairs on Electrical systems, hydraulic systems, air brake systems, suspensions, steering and power steering systems.
Maintain and utilize preventative maintenance practices.
Make minor repairs that include welding and cutting.
Frequently uses hand and power tools, shop machines, hoists/service truck crane, lifts and testing instruments.
Implement and maintain DOT regulations, OSHA regulations and Company safety compliances including consistent and proper use of personal protective equipment.
Will perform other duties and assignments as required.
Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
Repair and assess malfunctions, rebuild, and perform maintenance on construction equipment, such as cranes, power shovels, scrapers, paving machines, motor graders, trench-digging machines, conveyors, bulldozers, dredges, pumps, compressors and pneumatic tools.
What We Are Looking For
Experienced mechanic (or formal vocational training in maintenance and mechanical repair)
Must have High School diploma or GED
Some welding experience desired
Knowledge of heavy equipment operations
A valid drivers license and clean DMV record
Capable of lifting 50 pounds; occasionally lift up to 70 pounds.
MSHA training a plus
Ability to work in-shop and mobile (during high on-season demand) requiring the ability to work flexible hours/days as needed, as well as working in outdoor environment, under varying climatic conditions and daylight hours.
Ability to write legibly to complete work orders on equipment, complete company records, DOT records and other required paperwork.
