Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Maintenance Planner to work at our operations in Sechelt, BC. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this opportunity is perfect for the heavy industrial professional who is looking to grow their career with an industry leader. What You'll Get to Do:

  • Effectively plan maintenance activities related to the site with a focus on fixed plant equipment

  • Monitor and analyze maintenance reports, work orders, and history to optimize maintenance procedures, planning, and scheduling.

  • Work with the Maintenance team to develop short, mid, and long-term plans for equipment maintenance.

  • Contribute to Maintenance Shutdown planning strategies to identify and prioritize future maintenance requirements and work with operations, engineering, maintenance, and outside contractors to ensure successful and safe execution.

  • Order parts through appropriate channels and approvals to execute sound planning activities.

  • Ensure the computerized maintenance management system is fully utilized to ensure transparency across the business and maintained accordingly.

  • Liaise with Maintenance and Operations Supervisors and communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure resources are available when required.

  • Provide feedback to relevant leadership personnel regarding site issues that may affect the operating and financial performance of the operation and equipment.

  • Contribute to the annual equipment budget where required.

  • Participate in equipment replacement or upgrade projects. Including equipment selection.

  • Constantly seek continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Ensure personal actions are compliant with local and company safety protocols and behaviour adheres to respectful workplace policies

What We Are Looking For

  • Journeyperson Trade Certificate or Technical Diploma is preferred. Alternatively, a background in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Process Engineering is an asset.

  • Working knowledge of processing facility operations in heavy industry, including plant safety, plant maintenance, and maintenance resource allocation.

  • Experience in a manufacturing, mining, construction materials environment or larger business entity is an asset

  • Possess adequate craft knowledge (Millwright, Welding, Electrical) and skill to accurately estimate labour hours, material requirements and skills needed to complete a job. Must have a demonstrated ability to visualize and communicate the execution of work.

  • Experience working with a Computerized Maintenance Management System required.

  • Experience with project planning and building effective Gannt charts.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines. Demonstrated ability in document control and record keeping.

  • Ability to identify parts from OEM manuals, drawings or other sources and order from a variety of vendors.

  • Ability to read standard prints, schematics and drawings. Ability to sketch, draw and mark-up drawings.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively train and mentor employees.

Work Environment:
