Management Trainee Program Overview:

The Trainee Program is a 12 - 24 month program designed to kick-start careers in the construction materials industry by creating a solid foundation of practical skills and industry knowledge. This program targets key learning areas to foster growth, preparing employees for advanced roles aligned with the company's succession strategy. This program utilizes defined objectives and critical experiences to prepare participants for their role expectations. Management Trainees are an early career professional who is on a structured development path to prepare for leadership, technical, business or operations roles. Our trainee roles are offered in our following business lines: Aggregates, Cement, Ready-Mix, and Sales.

What we look for in a Management Trainee:

  • Interns are at least 18 years of age
    • College students
    • Transitioning Military
    • Trade School / Community College Students
    • Untraditional students or candidates
    • Hourly employees
  • An interest in the industry, and being hands on
  • Geographic flexibility domestically
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated capability of analytical, leadership, and technical skills
  • Willingness to adapt
  • Career growth drive

A Bachelors or Masters in Engineering with emphasis on theoretical and conceptual methods is required. Candidates may be new graduates or have up to two years of work experience. A GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale) or greater is required for entering this program. An Engineer-In-Training works for 12-24 months in a comprehensive program that provides on-the-job and formal training, as well as exposure to other areas of our business. Upon successful completion of the training program, future opportunities with Heidelberg Materials will be discussed depending upon the interests of the individual and the needs of the company.
