What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead global rail logistics procurement strategy, aligning with country teams and analyzing performance indicators.

  • Drive cost optimization through market benchmarking, insourcing vs. outsourcing analysis, and contract management for rail operations.

  • Negotiate supplier contracts and develop should-cost models to identify savings opportunities across regions.

  • Manage North American logistics procurement, including inbound/outbound transport, warehousing, and third-party carrier performance.

  • Champion digital sourcing initiatives and process optimization through e-auctions and logistics tools.

  • Advance sustainability goals by implementing green logistics strategies and collaborating with suppliers on ESG standards.

  • Mitigate logistics risks through continuity planning and ensure compliance with safety, trade, and industry regulations.

What Are We Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Studies, Business Administration, or related fields; Master’s preferred.

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in procurement, logistics, or freight forwarding with a strong record in strategic sourcing and supplier management.

  • Deep expertise in transportation logistics, including cost structures, regulatory standards, and industry practices.

  • Strong analytical skills in market research, cost modeling, and spend data analysis to support strategic decisions.

  • Proven ability to develop sourcing strategies and lead cross-functional initiatives.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with leadership qualities and a proactive, results-driven mindset.

  • High adaptability and willingness to travel nationally and internationally to support global logistics operations.

Work Environment

This role operates in a dynamic, global environment with cross-functional collaboration across procurement, supply chain, and operations teams. Flexibility to work across time zones and occasional travel may be required.
