Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. This position will be responsible for our cement plant quarry in Union Bridge, MD, our largest cement plant in the Northeast.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead safe and efficient quarry operations aligned with company and regulatory standards
Drive continuous improvement in production, quality, and cost control
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support plant performance and sustainability goals
Manage and develop quarry personnel through coaching and performance feedback in union environment
Oversee equipment maintenance planning and long-term mine planning strategies
What Are We Looking For
Proven ability to lead teams and foster a culture of safety and accountability
Strong knowledge of quarry operations (cement preferred), mining regulations, and environmental compliance
Skilled in data-driven decision-making and operational optimization
Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments
Competent in using technology and systems to manage operations and reporting
Basic knowledge of chemistry
Work Environment
This role is based at a cement plant and quarry site, requiring regular exposure to outdoor conditions, dust, noise, and large mobile equipment. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and required.
